The word of God (Bible), is scriptures of Judaism and Christianity. The Christian Bible consists of the Old Testament and the New Testament.
Christians and Jews have been called “people of the Book” throughout history. Both Judaism and Christianity are based on the Bible. A key doctrine of Christianity is the Bible in its original, handwritten state.
The Bible itself is inspired to be the Word of God, or “God-breathed” (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21). It unfolds as a divine love story between the Creator God and the object of his love, humankind. In the pages of the Bible, we learn of God’s interaction with humans. We discover his purposes and plans from the beginning of time and throughout history.
When do we study the Bible
JOSHUA 1:8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
Did you know that prayer and studying the Bible are two of the best ways to develop a close, personal relationship with God? talking with God and studying the Bible can radically transformed your life! God can change your perspectives and attitudes, heal and restore your soul through the power of His Word.
Things come up in life that keep us busy and distracted from the most important things. The word of God will help you understand and remind you of His love and why we’re studying the Bible.
2 Timothy 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
God is only asking us to make time to study His word, not only because He loves us and in His presences there is fullness of joy(psalm16:11). But being in the presence of God gives us understanding, liberation, and defences for our part in life. Remember ‘He is the way, the truth, and the light (john 14:6)’. Being in His presence, He shows us the way of righteousness, He gives the truth to guide us and He is the light to guide us in dark times and good times. And just as our human parent(s), He enjoys and loves spending time with us if we let Him.
