DEPARTURE FROM EGYPT ( OUR JOURNEY OF FAITH)

DEPARTURE FROM EGYPT ( OUR JOURNEY OF FAITH)

THE WORD FOR TODAY

The first reading recounts how the Israelites, the strangers among them, together with their livestock and cattle departed from Egypt with haste. This journey can be compared to that of the calling of Abraham out of the land of Ur to the promised land or country.

For Abraham, it was a journey of faith, going away from his own people to a place he knew not. The people of Israel too, just like Abraham their father in faith, have been called out of the land of Egypt to the promised land. This journey is a journey of faith. Their faith would be tested. Some would pass and some would fail woefully.

Like Abraham and the Israelites, we have been called out of ‘Egypt’ to the promise land. We may have no idea what direction to follow or where food and water are located. Remember, it is hard to get food and water in the wilderness. If we experience this in our faith journey, can we still stand with God? Can we still believe in Him?

🙏Lord, help us to keep trusting even when we find ourselves in the ‘wilderness’ without adequate preparation for it. Amen.

GOOD MORNING. DO HAVE A BLESSED WEEKEND. SMILE, JESUS LOVES YOU.

BIBLE STUDY. READ AND REFLECT ON ( EX. 12:37-42, MT. 12:14-21)

I WILL ALWAYS PRAY FOR YOU.
